Right Back to Bones

j_alves_skull_8cYou may think you are done, and then it returns.

You think you’ve escaped and then it burns.

So you gather all your favorite lies and toss them in the sky,

Blinded by guilt and the question of ‘why?’

Pity Party of one, and so damn out of control,

Just when you think your good, you take a stroll.

So round up all those validations, circa forever, mechanizations,

Thrown so far off by repeating, recurring situations.

I really wish the thing in me would leave me alone,

Building up the body, then right back to bones.

Swords raised to tyrants, the fight for the throne,

Hey, still no subjects, this king is alone,

So why not go right back…right back to bones?

Sometimes you feel the sun on your face,

But on you, wearing the light just seems out of place.

So take your faith and belief and wear the guise of the thief,

No battles ever won, so why take your sword anymore from its sheath?

Self-fulfilling nightmare and you cannot awake,

Till you hurt the ones outside, now you’re a snake.

So go ahead and just try to run, we lived here plenty and it ain’t no fun,

You think the pain is gone, but silent surprise it’s just begun.

I really wish the thing in me would leave me alone,

Building up the body, then right back to bones.

Swords raised to tyrants, the fight for the throne,

Hey, still no subjects, this king is alone,

So why not go right back…right back to bones?
